BRAVO ZULU HOUSE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER

(We’re declaring war on PTSD)

Martin County, Minnesota, December 20, 2023 – Bravo Zulu House announces the appointment of Major John Donovan, US Army (Ret) to the Board of Directors. Bravo Zulu House (a 501c3 non-profit organization), is the first all-military sober home in the country to help veterans with BOTH PTSD and addiction.

“Maj. John Donovan’s, U.S. Army, Retired appointment last year to the Governor Walz’s Advisory Council on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction is a perfect example of why Major Donovan is an absolute bulls-eye hit for us in landing another Veteran Leader committed to helping veterans with PTSD and substance abuse” said Tim Murray, Executive Director of Bravo Zulu House. “John is a long-time resident of Minnesota, has long-term recovery (40+ years) and among his many recognitions is his receipt of the St. Cloud State University Alumni Service Award for 2022, and the Advocate of the Year Award from the prestigious Faces and Voices of Recovery organization based out of Washington, DC.” Murray added.

Maj. Donovan recently served as the Board Chair for the Recovery Community Network (RCN) based out of St. Cloud. The RCN is devoted to providing services to people living with or seeking help with substance use disorders.

“I am “all-in” when it comes to helping our Veterans, particularly those suffering from PTSD and addiction. Bravo Zulu House is an idea long over-due, much needed, and I am honored and thrilled to part of the team that will make this house a reality” said Major Donovan.

Bravo Zulu House, scheduled to open late 2024, will be home to 14 Veterans coming out of treatment for substance abuse with co-occurring issues of PTSD. Murray states “The VA confirms that most PTSD sufferers abuse drugs and alcohol, so we created Bravo Zulu House in Martin County, Southern Minnesota. This is a huge problem, a massive opportunity, and one that needs to be a Veteran led-Veteran driven organization which is why we are building our organization with Veterans leaders everywhere we can.”
