BRAVO ZULU HOUSE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER

(We’re declaring war on PTSD)

Martin County, Minnesota, December 12, 2023 – Bravo Zulu House announces the appointment of  Lt. Colonel Sam Andrews to the Board of Directors. Bravo Zulu House (a 501c3 non-profit organization), is the first all-military sober home in the country to help veterans with BOTH PTSD and addiction.

Sam Andrews is currently enjoying a second meaningful career as an Operations leader at Optum Health, serves on the Rakhma Homes board and is passionate about veteran health and wellness. Sam retired with 27 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel. After enlisting as an infantryman in the USMC, deploying twice he was honorably discharged four years later as a Sergeant, missing the camaraderie of the service, while attending the University of St. Thomas he joined his local national guard unit, the historic 1st Minnesota volunteer infantry regiment.

Sam commission an infantry second lieutenant as a distinguished military graduate from the University of Minnesota Army ROTC. He held various command and staff positions, deployed four more times, and after attending the school of advanced military studies he traveled the world working with partners and allies conduct planning for large scale combat operations. Sam’s decorations include the expert infantryman’s badge, bronze star medal and three meritorious service medals. Sam also has an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. 

 “I am honored to be asked to join the board of directors, and I can’t wait to use my contacts and experience to help my fellow military brothers struggling with PTSD and substance abuse” said Lt. Colonel Sam Andrews.

Sam and his wife Amber live in Ham Lake with their two dogs. They love to workout, cook, and travel together. Sam’s been to 42 countries, they have been to 7 together. Sam is also an avid outdoorsman. He’s a life member of the National Infantry Association, VFW, DAV and a member of the American Legion. 

Bravo Zulu House, scheduled to open late 2024, will be home to 14 Veterans coming out of treatment for substance abuse with co-occurring issues of PTSD. Murray states “The VA confirms that most PTSD sufferers abuse drugs and alcohol, so we created Bravo Zulu House in Martin County, Southern Minnesota. This is a huge problem, a massive opportunity, and one that needs to be a Veteran led-Veteran driven organization which is why we are building our organization with Veterans leaders everywhere we can.”
